Rivas and the airbed

RIVAS AND THE AIRBED

Today found us back in Rivas as is usual on a Tuesday.  On our way to the bus in San Juan who did we come across, yes Shana and India on their way to take the airport taxi, just when they thought they'd finished with the tears and farewells.  Safe travels girls!

It hasn't rained here for 5 months or so and today was no different, blue skies all 'round.

Rivas Market

After a rather squished ride on the chicken bus (seems everyone wanted to go to Rivas this morning) we firstly went to the big supermarket in Rivas, Maxi Pali, I was hoping to find some real black tea but no just the usual weasel wee 'té negro'.  It looks like I'll have to go further afield.

But we did get Chase a bed, $NZ25 for a king single airbed with inbuilt foot pump.  Chase was pretty excited!  As you can see.

We must be getting lazy because we took the bike taxi's twice today - hard not to when it's stinking hot though and we cover a fair few miles every day.  The rides cost about .50c (NZ) a person for a five minute or so ride that saves us about a 15 minute walk.  Pretty much worth it I'd say.  Even if when we arrive at our location and see the poor young guys with sweat just running off them we can't help ourselves but to up the price so that they can have an icecream to cool off.  The ride still ends up costing about a dollar each.

Here's Chase and Kieran in the first ride of the day!

And here they are on their second.

After a day in Rivas with some lovely studies we headed back home on the bus.  Before you leave the station you can pretty much have a three course meal and any number of different drinks without leaving your seat.

Once again the bus was packed.

As soon as we got home, Chase was keen to pump up his new bed.  Well actually the boys are going to take month about, one on the real double bed and one on the air bed.

As you can see he was even multitasking as he was just as keen to try out our new internet.

Anyway, after quite a few minutes of pumping and getting nowhere with quite a few technique suggestions from Porl there still was no progress with the bed.

Porl decided that Chase's technique was all wrong and that he mustn't have read the instructions properly.  So he took over.  The air was definitely going in but the bed just wasn't going up.

Then Porl finally discovered that the other plug had been left out!  Duh!  lol
Finally the bed was up.  Thank goodness!

Another day ends in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.
