thanks so much for having us to stay guys, we loved being with you and will miss you all heaps!
.... we caught up with the Watson family,
Megan did well holding it all together (very impressive Meegs ;) )
and then we boarded our flight NZ6 to L.A.
After a 12 hour flight we arrived in L.A. to be greeted by our lovely brother Gus Bohorquez.
then we headed to Monterey Park where his equally lovely wife started to feed us all sorts of Mexican deliciousness ....
And so began our week in L.A.
L.A. so far ...
We've only been in L.A. for a few days but Gus had us hitting the ground running and we've managed to pack lots into just a few days - he really is the bomb when it comes to showing tourists around L.A. - if you want to know what to see, where to eat and where to buy things - ask Gus!
The night after we arrived we got to meet lots of the brothers and sisters from L.A. at a little party at the Bohorquez' home.
As you can see between Gus & Judith and the brothers and sisters there was an amazing feast!
It included 'posole' - a pork and hominy (maize) soup, menudo - (tripe soup), chiles rellenos, arroz rojo, arroz verde, frijoles fritos, frijoles puercos, carnitas, polla asado, pollo en mole (chicken in a chocolate sauce), tamales, tostadas, ensalada, pan Mexico, a delicious flan from Portos (¡qué rico!), cafe de la olla and more.
Since then we've visited San Diego - this is a lovely Spanish style Kingdom hall that we stopped at on the way. Judith & Gus and family used to attend this hall when they lived in San Diego.
... we drove down the palm lined streets towards the coast
... then we headed out the Sunset Cliffs
... saw some pretty groovy cars
went out on the pier ....
the boys broke a rule or two (rebels!) ...
and we checked out the wildlife ....
before heading back home to Monterey Park - Gus & Judith's lovely home.
It really doesnt matter where you go in the world, times with Jehovahs people are simply special!
